A Rosewood Beach Access Pass is required for each individual to access the swimming and recreation beach coves during the swimming season beginning Memorial Day weekend.

How to Purchase/Pick Up Your Rosewood Beach Access Passes

Online Lakefront Parking Decal: Now-May 18

  • Residents: If you purchased a decal last year, you can renew it online. First-time decal purchases must be made in person.
  • Non-residents: Decals can be purchased online or in person, regardless of past purchases.

Rosewood Beach Access Passes are valid for one season only and must be renewed or registered annually.

Lakefront parking is not included with the Rosewood Beach Access Pass. Lakefront parking decals must be purchased annually. Learn more.

Proof of Residency Requirements

Resident Rosewood Beach Access Pass

To protect the interests of Highland Park residents, the following proof of residency is required for the Rosewood Beach Access Pass. Residents must provide ONE of the following forms for proof of residency:

Adults (Ages 16 & Up)

  1. Current driver’s license with a Highland Park address.
  2. State of Illinois identification card with a Highland Park address.
  3. Real estate tax bill (prior year) with the owner’s name and a Highland Park address.
  4. Current automobile registration with name and Highland Park address.
  5. Copy of a real estate contract with a Highland Park address stating a closing date.
  6. A current utility bill with a resident’s name.
  7. Current rental lease with name and Highland Park address.

Children (Ages 4-15)
Parent/guardian may need to provide a birth certificate or other proper document(s) to show proof of parental relationship or guardianship between the child(ren) and the adult(s) applying for the swimming beach pass.

*The same proof of residency applies to Park District tax-paying residents not living within the city of Highland Park, including residents of Fort Sheridan (60037); portions of the Town of Fort Sheridan that lie within Park District boundaries (60035); and Park District of Highland Park taxpayers who reside on the following Kings Cove (Deerfield) streets: Carriage Way, Bent Creek Ridge, Fox Hunt Trail, Millstone Road, Shag Bark Lane, Smoke Tree Road and Tanglewood Court.

Are life jackets allowed at Rosewood Beach?

Yes, US Coastguard Approved Type I, II, IV life jackets are allowed. 

At Rosewood Beach, can I bring inflatables into the water?

No, inflatables of all types are not allowed in the water at Rosewood Beach.

Can I buy more guest passes if I use the 10 passes that were given to me?

Yes, residents can purchase additional Guest Passes at Rosewood Beach or the Recreation Center of Highland Park. They are $20 for 10 Guest Passes.

If I am a resident, do I get free guest passes added to my scan card?

Yes, if you register and prove you are a resident, your household will receive 10 free Guest Passes that can be used at Rosewood Beach.

This is my first time visiting Rosewood Beach and I am a non-resident. What do I need to know?

Parking for non-residents at Rosewood Beach is located at 45 Roger Williams. In this lot there is a parking kiosk where you can pay for parking and purchase your beach access passes for the day.

When I register for my Rosewood Beach Access Pass, do I also get a Lakefront Parking Decal?

No, a Lakefront Parking Parking Decal is available for an additional purchase.
