Swimming at Rosewood Beach is Closed for the Season. See you in 2025!

A Rosewood Beach Swimming Season Pass is required for each individual to access the swimming and recreation beach coves during the swimming season beginning Memorial Day weekend.

Resident Beach Passes

NEW! Rosewood Beach passes are now valid for one season only.  (Passes obtained in 2023 will be honored through the 2025 season and passes obtained in 2022 will be honored through the 2024 season). Passes are FREE for residents.

New and Renewal Resident Beach Passes can be picked up beginning Friday, March 1 at the Recreation Center of Highland Park. Must show proof of residency (see below for details).

Non-resident Beach Passes

Non-resident beach passes are available for a fee (see details below) and are valid for one year. Non-resident 2024 beach passes are available for purchase at the Recreation Center of Highland Park beginning on Friday, March 1.

Rosewood Beach Swimming Passes are available for pick-up/purchase at the following locations:

Lakefront parking is not included with the Rosewood Beach Swimming Pass. Lakefront parking decals must be purchased annually.

Proof of Residency Requirements

Resident Rosewood Beach Swimming Season Pass

To protect the interests of Highland Park residents, the following proof of residency is required for the Rosewood Swimming Beach Season Pass. Residents must provide ONE of the following forms for proof of residency:

Adults (Ages 16 & Up)

  1. Current driver’s license with a Highland Park address.
  2. State of Illinois identification card with a Highland Park address.
  3. Real estate tax bill (prior year) with the owner’s name and a Highland Park address. Applicant must also present a corresponding photo ID.
  4. Current automobile registration with name and Highland Park address. Applicant must also present a corresponding photo ID.
  5. Copy of a real estate contract with a Highland Park address stating a closing date. Applicant must also present a corresponding photo ID.
  6. A current utility bill with resident’s name. Applicant must also present a corresponding photo ID.
  7. Current rental lease with name and Highland Park address. Applicant must also present corresponding photo ID.

Children (Ages 4-15)
Parent/guardian may need to provide a birth certificate or other proper document(s) to show proof of parental relationship or guardianship between the child(ren) and the adult(s) applying for the swimming beach pass.

FAQs

Am I required to buy a season pass? Are daily fees available?

No, you have the option to purchase a Rosewood Beach daily fee pass for $10 that will be available for purchase at Rosewood Beach starting Memorial Day weekend.    The daily pass can be used for non-resident guests. 

Hourly parking is available in the upper lot of Rosewood and can be paid on premises.  $40/4 hours or $15/hour Not valid on holidays (July 4, Memorial Day, and Labor Day). No Non-resident daily parking allowed at Moraine, Central, Millard, Park Avenue North Lot, Rosewood Lower Lot

Do all ages need a beach pass?

Children under 4 years old do not require a beach pass. 

How do I purchase a lakefront parking decal or beach pass?

Lakefront Parking Decals: In-person purchase is required at the Recreation Center of Highland Park (1207 Park Ave West), Rosewood Beach (883 Sheridan Road) and Hidden Creek AquaPark (1220 Frederick Pl). You must show proof of residency and purchase your decal.

Rosewood Beach Passes: Resident beach passes are free and valid for three years. If you received a Beach Pass in 2022 or 2023, you do not need to pick up a new one. To get a new beach pass or replacement pass, you can get them with proof of residency at the Recreation of Highland Park (1207 Park Ave West) beginning Friday, March 1.

Non-resident beach passes are available for a fee and are valid for one year. These beach passes are available for purchase at the Recreation Center of Highland Park (1207 Park Ave West) beginning Friday, March 1. Beach passes may also be purchased at Rosewood Beach (883 Sheridan Road) and Hidden Creek AquaPark (1220 Frederick Pl) starting on Saturday, May 25.

How do I submit my proof of residency or vehicle ownership documentation?

 Please have the appropriate documentation in hand prior to entering the facility. Your passes will not be issued until proof of residency and/or vehicle ownership is provided for each adult residing in your household.

What are the residency requirements?

One of the following forms of proof of residency is required to purchase your Resident Lakefront Parking Decal and your Rosewood Beach Passes:

If you are purchasing more than 1 parking decal per adult residing in the household, in addition to proof of residency, proof of vehicle ownership will be required (vehicle registration or lease documents, names/addresses must match above proof of residency documentation).

What do I do if I have a non-resident guest I want to take to Rosewood Beach?

A $10 daily beach fee is available for non-residents starting Memorial Day weekend.   The fee is paid at the beach.  

What lots will I be able to use with a lakefront parking decal?

Residents ($35 per vehicle with proof of residency) – Provides parking access every day including holidays through December 31, 2024 at the following beach lots: Lower Rosewood, Upper Rosewood, Park Avenue –  North Lot, Central Park – Upper Lot, Millard, and Moraine. Valid dawn to dusk every day.

Non-Residents ($285 per vehicle) – Provides parking access every day, excluding holidays, through December 31, 2024 to the following beach lots: Upper Rosewood, Park Avenue –  North Lot, Central Park –  Upper Lot, Millard, and Moraine. Valid dawn to dusk every day, excluding holidays.

*Please Note: There will be no parking available in the north lot from July-November due to construction on the North Beach.
