The Ice Skating Instructor will provide instruction for classes in the Park District’s Ice Skating School. The Ice Skating Instructor will teach a variety of skating lessons and technical aspects of skating to improve student’s skills and techniques. Classes are taught in a positive, safe, educational, and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruct skating lessons in accordance with the District skating curriculum and guidelines.
- Teach skills essential to the development and growth of the skaters abilities and progress.
- Attend all informational staff meetings.
- Assist with Ice Show, competitions, and exhibitions, as well as special events held at Centennial Ice Arena.
- Maintain records as required (i.e., attendance, progress reports, etc.).
- Follow all Park District policies and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Possess knowledge of skating maneuvers.
- Understand skill levels and teach in a progressive and safe manner.
Salary Range: Wage range based on experience.
