Did you know that roses and apples are cousins? What about black-eyed Susans and artichokes? Learn to identify plants the fast and easy way… by family resemblance! We will take a walk and look at the characteristics of some of our late summer and fall-blooming wildflowers and perennials and match them to more familiar plants. You’ll come away with your own homemade “cheat cards” to understanding a few important plant families, including what they generally tend to do for humans and the ecosystem. So next time you see that four-petaled wildflower, you may still not know what it’s called—but you’ll know it’s related to broccoli!
