Under the direction of the Heller Nature Center Manager and with direct supervision from Naturalist Program Supervisor, the Program Instructor is responsible for conducting a wide variety of environmental education, interpretive and outdoor recreation programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental education, interpretive, outdoor recreation, birthday party, early childhood, and team course programs for various groups.
• Assist with beehive management, rentals, and classroom setup/takedown.
• Support special events, greet the public, answer phones, and provide information.
• Attend staff and planning meetings, and assist with curriculum development.
• Provide site supervision and lead programs on weekends, holidays, and as needed.
• Perform other Park District duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $20.50 – $23.00 Hourly

Location: Heller Nature Center – Highland Park

Status: Part Time
