Pickleball is America’s fastest-growing sport and provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy a healthy activity with friends and neighbors. To accommodate the growing demand in Highland Park, the Park District offers leagues and lessons and is adding more opportunities to play pickleball indoors and outdoors!

Introducing Club Pickle & Padel

The Park District of Highland Park is bringing the largest indoor pickleball and padel facility to the North Shore: Club Pickle & Padel!

Located at 2205 Skokie Valley Road, this new domed facility will feature 10 pickleball courts and 4 padel courts, with state-of-the-art amenities for players of all ages and abilities.

The 50,000 sq. ft. heated complex offers year-round play, with the North Shore’s first padel courts and plenty of space to escape the elements.

Outdoor Pickleball Guidelines

If courts are open and no one is waiting, you can use any available court.

Once courts are full, players are required to use the rack system to determine the order of play as follows:

All Park District programs have priority use of the courts. Only Park District staff are permitted to provide lessons on the courts; each occurrence subject to a FINE: PD Ord. Sec. 6.02; 7.01; 2.33 (d). Pickleball play only on these courts – no rollerblades, skateboards, bicycles or dogs allowed. Play is prohibited when snow or ice are present. Shoveling is strictly prohibited.

Danny Cunniff Park Pickleball Courts & Open Play

Open Play Times have been established at the Danny Cunniff Park pickleball courts to promote the game for individual players on the following days and times:

Beginner/Intermediate: Courts 1-6
Intermediate/Advanced: Courts 7-16

Open play at the Recreation Center of Highland Park

  • Drop-in. Reservations are not needed.
  • Players can play a game and additional players waiting will rotate in to play.
  • Open Pickleball is included in Basic and All-Inclusive Memberships of the Recreation Center of Highland Park. Sign up for a membership today!
  • Non-member cost: $7 Resident | $9 Non-resident (Punch Passes available)

Members may reserve one week in advance. Non-members may reserve 24 hours in advance with pre-payment.  Individual players’ shares of the court fees are calculated based upon membership and/or residency status.

  • Spectators are not allowed on courts
  • Water is the only beverage allowed on the courts
  • No personal hoppers are allowed
